5 FST partners and friends working on child rights and related issues in Assam, Swarnalata Changmai from Dhemaji, Nurul Hoque of SASS, Dhubri, Gajen Sharma (associate of SATRA, Sipajhar), Maneswar Brahma (Bijni), and Biju Barborua from Baksa, were invited to attend and participate in the day long discussions on the 18th of December 2010, and subsequent release of the North Eastern Social Research Centre (NESRC) and HAQ Centre for Child Rights Reports on “The Share of Children in the Assam Budget” & “Study on Sarba Shikshya Abhijyan”. The morning’s discussions were quite fruitful, as they also joined in the planning process for a fresh forthcoming study on the implementation of the Mid Day Meal Scheme of the SSA in their project areas in different districts of Assam.
